We welcome individuals and veterans who are committed to a recovery-oriented lifestyle and are seeking a supportive, structured environment in Merced County, CA.
What is the onboarding process?
Potential residents can be referred by social service agencies, healthcare providers, or can apply directly. We conduct a brief screening to ensure our environment is the right fit for your journey.
Are there specific rules and expectations?
Residents must commit to a drug and alcohol-free lifestyle. We maintain a clear curfew, a set of rules that need to be followed, active participation in community meetings, and expectations for future employment.
What are the rules regarding visitors?
To maintain a safe and stable environment, visitors are allowed during designated hours and must adhere to all house guidelines. Overnight guests are generally not permitted.
What is the expected length of stay?
Length of stay varies based on individual progress and program type, typically ranging from 3 to 12 months as you transition toward independent living.
What should I bring with me?
Please bring personal hygiene items, comfortable clothing, and any prescribed medications. Space is limited, so we recommend bringing only essential personal belongings.
How is transportation handled?
Our locations are chosen for accessibility. Residents are encouraged to use public transit, and we often provide guidance on local transportation options to reach employment and medical appointments.

Payment Rules
Payments are due on the first of each month. We accept various payment methods and provide flexible timelines for residents awaiting first paychecks or benefit approvals. Accountability is a core part of the recovery process.
Sobriety Commitments
Zero Tolerance Policy: Kalifornia Living maintains a strictly drug and alcohol-free environment. Any possession or use of illicit substances or unauthorized alcohol is grounds for immediate discharge to ensure the safety of our recovery community.
To uphold these standards, residents are subject to random drug and alcohol screenings at minimum twice weekly. Full transparency and cooperation with testing are essential requirements for continued residency.
Sobriety milestones are celebrated as core pillars of your journey. Residents are expected to engage in daily support meetings and professional counseling to move toward long-term independence and lasting recovery.
